1. Before maturity, conversion to silage*. Silage is where you chop up the whole plant together with the corn ear and let it ferment. You can add molasses to assist the fermentation. This is good fodder for cattle. If you vacuum the pack, it can last for 4 (four) months.
2. Fresh sweet corn can be vacuumed, packed and refrigerated for sale to hotels and supermarkets for consumption at RM6/kilogram.
3. The dried corn can be sold to poultry farms at RM1.80 / kilogram.
Presently, the cost of producing corn is at RM0.65 / kilogram.
One hectare can product 6 – 8,000 kilograms of corn duly shelled.
The cost of hybrid seed is RM20 / kilogram FOB GEMBER, an agricultural town near Surabaya.
1 kilogram can produce 400 kilogram of shelled grains.
1 hectare require 20 kgs of seeds.
1 single plant 115 gms of shelled grain.
1 hectare contain 68 – 72,000 plants.
